Westbury School District

For the Westbury School District, our team was asked to help capture the horrible overcrowding issue of their Middle & High schools. A bond vote for the district was held in March of 2018 - aiming at a 4.7% increase to aid in the much needed expansion of their campus & infrastructure. We went into the schools met the administrators, faculty and students. The passion they share for education, and the strong sense of community they take pride in was endearing - despite the hardships they’ve endured in the learning environments.

The pre-vote campaign was launched by one of our partner firms, Zimmerman/Edelson Inc. of Great Neck, Long Island across digital/social media outlets.

Months later, I was invited to photograph the Westbury High School Class of 2018 Graduation Ceremony at LIU: CW Post Location. I was greeted by the superintendent who graciously allowed me access to anywhere on the premises to capture this beautiful moment for the staff, students and families. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.

Result: The bond vote was passed by an overwhelming majority (1,062 to 461).
